After reading a review on Brother 700II machine, I wonder if you letters that are 4-5 cm high, without being able to purchase additional monogram. Anyone out there like quantam Singer CE-250?

Go with the brother - who is the best mark for embroidery.

250. This can only work if connected to a PC - no "brain".
Brother uses a direct USB connection to your PC just download the images. No need to be constantly connected to the PC to function as a singer.
Direct connection (cable is included with the machine embroidery included) is a common feature and the only thing that is better, an embroidery machine that accepts USB key flash drive.
Brother is not the best mark for embroidery, not yet.
Check Viking, Pfaff and Bernina. It is even better than Brother Janome.
